Power and its extended universe has been a big hit for 50 Cent and Starz.

50 Cent hasn’t always been paid like it was a big hit.

During a chat with Steve Stoute at UnitedMasters’ SelectConNYC, Fif revealed his paltry salary during the series’ early days.

“In the Power series, I was receiving $17,000 to be an executive producer, to be a reoccurring character, to be almost a music supervisor, to create the theme song for the show,” 50 Cent said. “$17,000 per episode — I get paid more to go to the nightclub and wave. I just wanted them to get pregnant with the idea that we have to have this baby,” he said. “I wanted to make the show. No one in our culture has made any television and produced what they wanted to make.”

So, 50 Cent only got $136,000 for the entire first season of Power.

He didn’t reveal when he got a raise (we assume he did at some point) or what he’s making now, almost a decade later.
