20 New Hip-Hop & R&B Albums You Should Listen to Right Now (Week of May 21)
This week’s collection of new albums includes joint projects from producers like Harry Fraud, 38 Spesh, and Millyz.
Here at Okayplayer, we know it can be tough to keep track of all the new albums dropping every week. Every Friday, there’s collaborative projects, deluxe editions of previously-released albums, a seemingly-endless amount of EPs, and even past projects being added to streaming libraries.
This week is no different: Curren$y and The Alchemist’s classic 2011 mixtape, Covert Coup, is finally available for streaming. In the same vein of one-producer albums, Benny the Butcher and 38 Spesh team up for Trust the Sopranos, Dave East and Millyz link for Pablo & Blanco, and Dark Lo recruits Harry Fraud for Borrowed Time. Rising Detroit stars Icewear Vezzo and 42 Dugg drop new tapes, Free Dem Boyz and Rich Off Pints. Young M.A.
Virtuosic Virginia native Masego finally returns with a new five-track EP titled Studying Abroad: Extended Stay. The project features guest appearances from Don Toliver, Shenseea, Shelea, and TeaMarrr. Masego also appears on Sinead Harnett’s sophomore effort Ready is Always Too Late, which also drops today.
