A week after battling Rick Ross in Verzuz, 2 Chainz comes through with a new video for his single “Money Maker” featuring Lil Wayne. Since the COVID-19 pandemic is still in full effect, the ColleGrove collaborators weren’t able to reunite in person for the visuals but did connect via the world of animation.

The animated video sees 2 Chainz and Weezy taking over a football stadium, which goes right along with the marching band-sampling production. The song serves as a tribute to HBCUs as producer Playa Pizzle uses the sounds of Southern University’s famed marching band The Human Jukebox.

On the song’s intro, 2 Chainz shouts out Southern and a few other HBCUs. The other schools include Clark Atlanta University, Florida A&M University and his alma mater Alabama State University (where he played college basketball).

2 Chainz has plans to release two LPs before the end of 2020. One is titled So Help Me God while the other is a sequel to 2016’s ColleGrove collab album with Wayne.

No release date has been announced for either project, but the Atlanta-bred rapper told The Breakfast Club the rollout for So Help Me God is ready to go.
