11 New Hip-Hop & R&B Albums You Should Be Listening To (Week of February 11)
$NOT has dropped Ethereal, a solid listen featuring A$AP Rocky and others. Jazmine Sullivan also drops the deluxe edition of her acclaimed album Heaux Tales.
We’ve returned after keeping our ears to the pavement on the latest and greatest from major label artists and indie acts. $NOT’s debut Ethereal has arrived, it’s a robust and experimental release. On it, he calls upon Juicy J, Trippie Redd, and A$AP Rocky on “Doja,” which might be the best track on the album.
Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous leads our R&B releases this week. Unlikely features appear in the form of Fivio Foreign and Dave East, but there are also appearances by Anderson .Paak and Usher. Elsewhere Moonchild shares Starfruit, a lush listen. Black women reign supreme on this project: Rapsody, Lalah Hathaway, Alex Isley, and more take up space on this exquisite release.
Kanye West’s 2006 live album Late Orchestration At Abbey Studios is available on streaming platforms. It offers a listen that we need as Kanye is currently the topic of gossip sites these days. After getting the rights to Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg emerged with a new album BODR (Back On Death Row). It’s packed with features from the likes of Nate Dogg, Nas, and Sleepy Brown to name a few. Kid Capri also drops The Love, his newest release in 24 years.
As promised, Jazmine Sullivan has unleashed Heaux Tales, Mo’ Tales The Deluxe. Junglepussy drops Jp5000 and Wiz Khalifa x Juicy J reveal Smoker’s Night. Also Texas legend Lil Keke unveils LGND, and Smoke DZA’s Mood Swings is available.
