The $200 device will ship with a copy of Kanye’s DONDA.

As he continues to tinker with his incoming album, the artist soon-to-be formerly known as Kanye West is offering fans the opportunity to conduct some sonic experiments of their own. This morning, West unveiled a new device called the Donda Stem Player, which will allow users to split any song into its various parts and customize them to their liking.

Designed with the British company, Kano, the circular neutral-colored hardware builds out on a concept West was initially developing with Teenage Engineering earlier this year. According to a product description from West’s site, the device can isolate the stems of a song, offering users the ability to adjust, manipulate, and add a range of effects to whatever they choose to load into the player. From there, you’ll be able to save and bounce your track via USB.

The Donda Stem Player will also reportedly ship with a copy of the album it’s sharing a name with, which could be this week (or any other ahead.) Tomorrow night, West will once again showcase DONDA at a listening party in his hometown of Chicago. Per a report from The Chicago Sun Times, the event is causing a stir locally, as it will not require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test for entry. The only precautions being taken at the Soldier Field event are a mask requirement and a reduction of crowd size, scaled down to 38,000 as opposed to the typical 63,000 cap. The third DONDA listening party will begin at 9pm EST on Thursday, August 26th. Following two missed release dates, the album is said to be slated to arrive on Friday. But we’ll see how that goes.

As for the Stem Player, you can see the device below and pick it up for $200 USD via West’s site.
