YG was asked about who he’s voting for in the upcoming presidential election during an interview with Real 92.3’s Bootleg Kev and DJ Hed. While the West Coast rapper obviously won’t be casting his ballot for Donald Trump, he wasn’t thrilled with his other options. Although he liked the idea of voting for Kanye West, he’s fully aware Yeezy’s bid for the presidency isn’t legitimate.

“It’s all cap!” he said with a laugh. “Yeah! Nigga, it’s marketing.”

Kanye claimed he’s running for president in 2020 on July 4. He’s currently promoting a new album titled God’s Country, which is expected to drop later this year.

When asked directly about voting for the G.O.O.D. Music founder, YG said he would with a strong hint of sarcasm. Yet despite Yeezy’s affinity for Trump, the creator of the “FDT (Fuck Donald Trump)” anthem spoke highly of Kanye.

“People be underestimating Kanye,” YG said. “He be doing shit and he’ll have people thinking some shit. He always got a plan. He a real nigga!”

He continued, “You gotta look at his play, bro. He’s smart. He went Christian. He did the Christian album. He bout to drop another Christian album, so he got all the people. He got the Christians, so now he running for president. ‘Oh, he’s a Christian! Oh my God, Yeezy! He’s Jesus! We gotta vote for him!’”

Elsewhere in the conversation, YG wondered if Joe Biden is a Crip and burst into laughter when Kev said Will Smith is a swinger. He also expressed his interest in a Verzuz battle against Tyga and explained why he cut ties with Nicki Minaj.
