Noname shared the freestyle on Twitter.

Noname has shared a freestyle of herself rapping over Jay Electronica‘s “Rough Love.”

The artist took to Twitter on Wednesday to share the brief freestyle, captioning the video with: “i write to jay elect beats when im bored.” The track is from Jay Elec’s Act II: The Patents of Nobility (The Turn), which the artist officially released on streaming service Tidal recently.

Noname’s freestyle, as well as her verse for the freestyle, can be viewed below. In June, she dropped “Song 33,” her first solo single of the year, and the follow-up to 2019’s “Song 32.”

Earlier this year, the Chicago rapper spoke with Okayplayer about her book club and what her plans are to expand it.

“We’re going to launch a podcast in addition to having some of the authors pull up to the different book club meetings,” she said. “Having a podcast interviewing different writers and people that come to the meetups will be really crucial, so we’re trying to raise money on our Patreon for that.”

She also spoke on what has been the most rewarding about starting the book club, stating: “The community, and the responses after the meetings and conversations from all the different chapters. It brings me literal joy. People are coming together and talking about a book, and they feel safe and they feel seen and heard. That gives me the most joy. I like in-person meetings. The online shit is dope but the real magic is in person.”
