Waka Flocka Flame posted two questions to his Instagram Stories earlier this week which read, “How can we as a community beg the police to don’t shoot but we killing each other still? We gotta ask ourself how bad do we want true freedom?”

Essentially, he was suggesting the Black community needs to stop killing its own people first before they can expect respect from authorities, an undeniably controversial take. Naturally, his comments sparked a heated debate on Twitter and ultimately caught the attention of Warner Music Group artist Chika.

On Wednesday (September 2), the Industry Games rapper took it upon herself to check Waka and blatantly told him to keep his mouth shut.

“in simple terms, nobody else has been asked to stop killing each other if they don’t wanna be killed,” she wrote. “this is stupid and would only come from someone who doesn’t have the range to understand double standards. or umm.. racism?”

She added, “in simpler terms, shut the hell up, flocka.”

Chika took her sentiments to Instagram as well, writing, “everybody of every race commits violence against each other, it is not specific to our community. What IS specific to us is having these respectability politics used as a condition for us to receive simple human decency from people who swore to serve and protect.”

She added in the caption, “@wakaflocka sshh. not rn.

Of course, Waka Flocka has had inflammatory opinions on serious topics before. In March, as the COVID-19 pandemic was just beginning its wrath, he told the Real 92.3 LA he was immune to the virus and flatly stated it wasn’t even real.

“It’s fake … Minorities can’t catch it,” he said. “Name one though. We all descended from the same persons. Now, did we catch it? It hit the people passing through our airport [Atlanta], it ain’t touch them soulful folks.”

Revisit his comments below. The coronavirus topics pops up around the 11:40-minute mark.
