Toronto, Canada – Tory Lanez is one of the many Toronto natives reacting to the shooting death of blossoming 21-year-old rapper Houdini. According to CP24 News in Toronto, Houdini and two others were shot after gunfire erupted in broad daylight outside a hotel in Toronto’s Entertainment District on Tuesday (May 26).

Lanez quickly took to Instagram upon hearing the news and shared a trifecta of photos both with and without Houdini.

He wrote in the caption, “I’m trying , and I can’t fight the tears from falling .. i can’t even find the words for a speech right now .. YALL TOOK MY FUCKING NIGGA AND ALL HE WANTED TO DO WAS LIVE !!!!!! #RIP Houdini 4 Ever!”

Meek Mill also mourned Houdini on his Instagram page, writing, “Rocked WIT YOUNGBULL VIBE AS A PERSON RIP! PRAYERS TO HIS SIDE!”

Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders told reporters at the scene,“This was very brazen.”

Multiple calls about the sound of gunfire at King Street and Blue Jays Way flooded in sometime after 4 p.m. local time. Once officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The two other victims were located soon after.

Police said all three people were “rushed” to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Houdini and a 15-year-old boy were transported in critical condition, while a 27-year-old woman was transported in serious condition. Houdini died of his injuries.

This marks the fourth murder of an up-and-coming rapper this month. Brooklyn rappers Nick Blixky and KL Balla were fatally shot in separate incidents earlier this month. Kiing Shooter, who was signed to Nas and Jungle’s Mass Appeal offshoot Street Dream Records, was shot and killed on May 5.
