Tory Lanez was a trending Twitter topic on Monday (July 13) — but not for anything good. The Canadian rapper was arrested in Los Angeles on Sunday (July 12) after police were called to a Hollywood Hills home for a disturbance call.
Witnesses said people were arguing in an SUV and someone fired shots in the air before fleeing the scene. By the time police arrived, the SUV was gone. Officers eventually located it and discovered both Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion in the car.

During a search of the vehicle, police found a gun and arrested Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, a felony.
According to the Los Angeles Sheriff Office website, he was booked into the L.A. County jail around 8 a.m. local time and released after posting a $35,000 bond. He’s expected back in court on October 13 to face the charge.
Despite the seriousness of Lanez’s situation, Twitter can’t stop talking about his physical appearance. The arrest report lists Lanez’s height as 5-foot, 3-inches and weight at 120 pounds, which wasn’t overlooked by Twitter (and neither was his first name).
The jokes began to fly almost immediately and the faint sound of Skee-Lo’s “I Wish” surely had to be playing somewhere.
