New York, NY – Any humility Tekashi 6ix9ine showed during Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack and Anthony “Harv” Ellison’s trial last October has seemingly gone out the window. Since his April release from prison, the polarizing rapper has returned to his trolling ways as his music explodes with popularity.
Throughout the whole ordeal, Akademiks and 6ix9ine have been thick as thieves, so it comes as no surprise the Everyday Struggle co-host has reeled 6ix9ine into his beef with Freddie Gibbs.
Shortly after Aks and Gibbs went nuclear on Twitter, Aks headed to his Twitch channel and put 6ix9ine on the phone. When the media personality asked 6ix9ine if he’s familiar with Gibbs, he replied, “Yeah, the nigga that got shot at when he came to New York by Harv.”
Aks responded, “Oh I didn’t know that.”

But there’s no doubt Gibbs remembers the incident. In November 2014, Gibbs and members of his entourage were riding in a black GMC Denali SUV after performing at Rough Trade in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn when shots rang out.
A source close to the situation told HipHopDX at the time “[Gibbs’ friend] got hit in the knee, but he’s recovering” and confirmed Gibbs was the target.
“They chased him shooting,” the source added. “They just didn’t hit him.” Although Gibbs avoided injury by jumping out of the vehicle and running into Rough Trade, Gibbs’ DJ Izzo was hit. He and another member of his crew sustained minor injuries from the shooting and were taken to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan for treatment.
“They tried to kill Tupac,” Gibbs told the New York Post. “They tried to kill me. I’m still alive.” When asked why someone would want to shoot him, Gibbs responded, “I’m Freddie Gibbs. They tried to kill me, but I’m still alive.”
According to police, the gunman was seen on security video inside the venue “trying to blend” into Gibbs’ entourage inside the club’s Guardian Green Room.
“He [the shooter] was standing around you guys all night,” an investigator told Gibbs. “He was stalking you guys. We can tell on camera, he wanted it to look like he knew you, but it’s clear he didn’t. When you guys left, he was waiting for you outside.”
There were no arrests. If 6ix9ine’s claim is true, it adds another crime to Ellison’s long rap sheet. The Nine Trey Gangsta Blood leader is already behind bars thanks in part to 6ix9ine’s testimony. Ellison was found guilty of kidnapping in aid of racketeering as well as racketeering conspiracy and maiming and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.
