TDE’s Isaiah Rashad is back with his newest album The House Is Burning which features an assortment of inspirations not limited to R&B, neo-soul, and Southern rap.

Isaiah Rashad finally returns after a five-year hiatus and blesses us with The House Is Burning, the follow-up to his last release The Sun’s Tirade.

The LP from back to front is an expansive listen, it’s stacked with 16 tracks featuring an assortment of appearances. Smino appears on the smooth track “Claymore,” Lil Uzi Vert perfectly pairs with Rashad on “From The Garden,” then there’s SZA and 6LACK on “Score.” There are a few other features, but we’re particularly keen to highlight Amindi on “All Herb.” Also, there’s doechii, a rising artist who delivers a memorable verse on “Wat U Sed.”

Rashad has been TDE’s golden child for years, The House Is Burning points to his ability to pull himself out of dark times. The vulnerability he shows in his music has always been his saving grace. The LP digs a bit into motifs exploring his journey over the past five years.

In a recent GQ feature, Rashad shares how he’s feeling ahead of the drop of his new LP:

“Right in this moment, I’m hungry. In all honesty, I’m kind of back at my base level where I don’t know what’s going on, I’m just happy to be doing it. I couldn’t tell you for real how I felt—I’m kind of nervous, I’m kind of happy that stuff’s happening again, even beyond the pandemic, everything. I’m excited, but I’m just nervous.”

Rather than sitting put, Rashad will begin a 42-city tour entitled Lil Sunny’s Awesome Vacation Tour. It kicks off in September in Boston and will make stops in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver, and a bevy of other cities before it wraps in Chattanooga, Isaiah’s hometown.
