Snoop Dogg is doing his part to encourage voting in the 2020 election. The D-O-Double-G has allowed the Democratic National Committee to use his 2004 hit “Drop It Like It’s Hot” in a new ad campaign promoting mail-in voting.
“This is the most important election of our lifetimes and it’s my first time voting,” The Doggfather said in a press release. “We need every single American to get out there and vote. It’s time for y’all to drop those ballots like they’re hot — in your local drop box. Vote early and let ‘em know our voices will be heard!”
Snoop’s been very vocal about participating in the electoral process as he wants to get Donald Trump out of office. In June, he declared he’d vote for the first time in his life during an interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood.
“I ain’t never voted a day in my life, but this year I think I’ma get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year,” he told Big Boy. “For many years, they had me brainwashed thinking that you couldn’t vote ’cause you had a criminal record. I didn’t know that. My record’s been expunged, so now I can vote.”
Last month, the Hip Hop OG joined forces with Rock The Vote and 1 Vote Closer to launch the #VoteWithSnoop drive to encourage voter registration.
