Eminem and Rhymefest squared off during Em’s battle rap days

It was the 1998 Scribble Jam in Cincinnati, which Rhymefest remembers was the biggest battle in the Midwest.

During their battle, Em dropped an N-bomb on Rhymefest.

But he didn’t even care, because the bar was so sharp.

“I battled Eminem, and that was the first time a white guy ever called me a n*gga. He said, ‘I’ll let my razor split you ’til they have to staple stitch you / This n*ggaa took my facial tissue and turned it to a racial issue.,'” he remembered.  “You couldn’t even be mad. I realized something about racism that day– it’s why ‘Family Guy’ works. It’s only good when it’s funny. It’s only non-offensive when it’s dope. Had you said that sh*t and not been dope, it would’ve been a problem.”

According to Rhymefest, he won the battle.  But he conceded that Shady “won the war.”
