NLE Choppa is already making good on his promise to stop rapping about violence.
Just days after the Memphis native announced he’d be shifting his focus to making more positive and uplifting music, Choppa previewed a track that goes in his new direction. In the Triller clip posted Monday (September 7), the 17-year-old shared new bars where he raps about growing and not wanting to sleep around.
“You sew what you reap, I been reaping what I been sewing,” he raps in the video. “When you fuck you get her DNA so I ain’t hoeing / I told my mama I don’t know what’s going on I’m growing / Security and prosperity, that’s all I could show ’em!”

In another clip Choppa uploaded, he appeared to be controlling a flame.
“I look crazy ash fasho but peep how the fire moving with me and my energy,” he wrote. “‘It’s low, watch this’ *fire pops up* then watch how it starts to go up to my fingers as I move em.”

He then uploaded a second clip where he once again appeared to be manipulating the fire.

As people started making jokes and saying he has superpowers, the “Shotta Flow” rapper attempted to school his followers about the energy exchange and how it can work to manifest anything you want.
“Its not superpowers,” he said. “It’s all about connecting the mind to the heart focusing on the task at hand. When you put your mind to your heart it send a vibration of energy through your body from the heart BEAT this creates the energy to accomplishing what you put your mind too!”

As Big Sean would describe it, Choppa’s been zenned the fuck out since he got into meditation over quarantine. Talking to HipHopDX in August, he explained his breakout year led him to find methods to remain true to himself.
“Through the process of music, stress, all this stuff going on, a lot of shit going on, I kind of lost it,” NLE told HipHopDX. “That’s why I said making my album was a real testimony. Cause I lost myself in the process of making it. But then at the end I found myself just by, I was trying to find peace, a way to find peace to where I could just get some alone time and just really focus on my thoughts. So I wouldn’t be driving myself crazy.”
