Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty welcomed their first child on September 30 — and now, Black Barbie has finally revealed the baby’s gender.

On Thursday (October 15), Nicki shared an Instagram post showing off the various congratulatory cards she received from her famous friends, including Beyoncé, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and model Winnie Harlow. In the process, she told her 123.3 million followers she’s the proud mother to a baby boy.

“Thank you to Queen B, Kim & Ye, Riccardo Tisci, Winnie, Karol & everyone who sent well wishes during this time,” she wrote in the caption. “It meant the world to me. I am so grateful & in love with my son. Madly in love. My favorite liddo boy in the whole wide world.”

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and lack of live shows, Nicki has been thriving in recent months. She was nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards in the Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories for “Tusa,” her collaboration with Karol G.

And she also scored a huge victory in her lawsuit with singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman. On September 16, a judge ruled her unreleased song “Sorry” didn’t commit any copyright infringement involving Chapman’s “Baby Can I Hold You”  — even though she never got permission to sample the song.

“Artists usually experiment with works before seeking licenses from rights holders and rights holders typically ask to see a proposed work before approving a license,” judge Virginia A. Phillips said. “A ruling uprooting these common practices would limit creativity and stifle innovation within the music industry.”

Nicki is preparing to release another collaboration, this time with Sada Baby. Other than that, she’s presumably focused on taking care of her real baby and basking in her newfound motherhood.
