Benny Boom directs the short film that finds Minaj seeking out a double informant in her heist crew who steals jewelry and art. Joseph Sikora well known for his role as Tommy Egan on Power appears as her right-hand man. At the top of the video, she lies so well that we even believe her during a chilling interrogation scene.
It’s been three years since she shared a single with her eager fanbase. The last time we checked in, this took over the internet.
Before the video’s release, Nicki did what she does best: she prepared everyone for the drop. The single is solid, the video is provoking and she manages to shout out the late Pop Smoke at one point.
Earlier this week, she dropped by Hot 93.7 show DJ Buck & Friends and shared that Angelina Jolie’s role in Salt inspired the clip. She also added that her upcoming album will be “the closest thing we’ll ever get to Pink Friday 2.0.”
As for an album release date, she popped up on James Corden’s late-night show and confirmed it’d arrive right before summertime.
