Lil Yachty’s show Public Figures is moving to HBO Max, according to Variety. The television series is making the jump to WarnerMedia’s streaming service after Quibi, the original home of Yachty’s dramedy, announced it was shutting down just six months after it launched.

Public Figures is loosely based on Yachty’s life. The Quality Control Music artist is starring in the series and working behind the scenes as one of its executive producers.

The show’s premise involves what it’s like to be an aspiring influencer living in New York City. Ian Edelman, the creator of HBO’s How To Make It In America, will write and serve as the showrunner for the series in addition to being one of its executive producers.

Edelman is no stranger to working with rappers. How To Make It In America starred Kid Cudi, who is still collaborating with Edelman to this day. The filmmaker also directed Netflix’s The After Party, which featured Atlantic Records artist KYLE in the lead role.

Public Figures adds to Yachty’s growing list of acting credits as he expands his career beyond Hip Hop. The multi-platinum selling artist’s filmography already includes roles in films such as Teen Titans GO! To The Movies and How High 2.
