Rap isn’t in the best place.

Sales are down, and no rapper was nominated for a Grammy in the Album, Song, or Record of the Year categories.

Lil Yachty thinks he knows why.

“The state of Hip Hop right now is a lot of imitation. It’s a lot of quick, low-quality music being put out. It’s a lot less risk-taking, it’s a lot less originality…People are too safe now. I’d rather take the risk than take the L,” Boat said.

Does that sound right?  Or is Yachty just trying to draw attention to his last album, which was nothing if not artistically risky?
