Lil Baby will never forget his humble beginnings. With Grammy nominations arriving on Tuesday (November 24), Baby earned a pair of noms in the Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song categories thanks to his protest anthem “The Bigger Picture.”

The Atlanta native looks to give back to those same people he sought to defend and speak out for on the evocative track. Baby pledged $1.5 million to various public services and organizations.

“I got 1.5 million dollars to donate off of ‘Bigger Picture’ I want the money to go [where] it’s needed,” he began.

Baby doesn’t know exactly which places will receive what resources, but he’ll keep all of the fans in the know of exactly where everything is distributed.

“I don’t want to donate to just any organization but I will be letting my fans kno exactly we’re the money goes,” the Quality Control rapper wrote. “Lawyers ,Bonds , Play Grounds , Jobs , youth activities , things that WE can really benefit off of.”

“The Bigger Picture” arrived in June on the heels of George Floyd’s murder at the hands of police. The politically-charged music video has nearly 100 million views in less than six months, but don’t expect Baby to be political with his rhymes in the future.

“The more I’m seeing what’s up with all that shit, the more I’m like, ‘Let me back up off politics,’ ” he told GQ earlier in 2020. “I don’t want to be no Malcolm X or Martin Luther [King]. I stuck my nose in it. I’m good on that.”

Even though Baby’s My Turn became the first multi-platinum album of 2020, his sophomore LP did not receive a nomination in the Best Rap Album category, where Nas, Freddie Gibbs, Royce Da 5’9″, Jay Electronica and D Smoke will compete.
