Former Gangster Disciple boss Larry Hoover has spent the last 30 years in jail, mainly in a federal supermax prison.

Donald Trump commuted the 74-year-old’s six federal life sentences for murder yesterday, but he won’t be coming home.

Hoover is also serving 200 years of Illinois time for killing 19-year-old Chicago drug dealer William “Pooky” Young in 1973.

Trump can’t commute state sentences, and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker did not piggyback any accommodations for Hoover onto Trump’s.

Hoover’s boosters will continue to lobby Pritzker for a pardon or clemency.  But they’ve been told it will be an uphill battle.

Hoover had denounced the Gangster Disciples and has spoken out against gang life.
