Ever the romantic, Kodak Black didn’t let a little thing like being locked up prevent him from showing his affection for actress Zendaya on her 24th birthday.

The Euphoria star celebrated her big day on Tuesday (September 1) and the “No Flocking” rapper made sure to celebrate as well. Working around his obviously limited mobility, Kodak had someone round up 24 black balloons and release them in a video posted to his Instagram page.

Unfortunately for the Finesse Kid, it seems Zendaya is only concerned with one birthday shout out. The only post on her Instagram Story as they day nears an end is a post from Beyoncé herself, who posted a baby photo of Zendaya to her website to wish her a happy birthday.

“Never shutting up about it,” Zendaya captioned the screenshot.

Kodak previously posted a Valentine’s Day poem for the actress as well, but somehow his sweet nothings must have missed her radar.

“Zoolin in an ice box, frozen in time. But mentally, you’re my Valentine,” he wrote in a post in February, making sure to tag her as well. “Hope I made you smile with this poem. I’m thinking ’bout you all the way home.”

He also mentioned her in a letter to fans in March, calling her “da homie.”

Kodak is currently serving a 46 month prison sentence for a 2019 federal gun charge case and is expected to be released in August of 2022. His appeal for a reduced sentence was denied by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in June.
