Kid Cudi called out British music outlet New Musical Express for publishing a factually incorrect story about his Eminem-assisted single “The Adventures Of Moon Man & Slim Shady.” In an article that’s since been deleted, NME claimed Cudi was initially unhappy with the collaborative track.

“Never said this and im not sure how yall came up w it,” he wrote alongside a screenshot of the article. “I was clearly excited about my feature. Never once said I was unhappy about it nor did my energy suggest that. So to NME, get ur shit together and stop spreading LIES.”

NME’s story originated from Cudi’s interview on Lil Wayne’s Young Money Radio, which aired on Friday (July 10). The article’s author wrote, “Kid Cudi has revealed that he wasn’t happy with how his recent collaboration with Eminem turned out at first,” but no quote cited indicated he felt that way.

It appears the writer misinterpreted what Cudi meant when he said Eminem “destroyed” the song. The following quote was included in the piece.

“I got him on the phone. I had to tell him, I was like, ‘Yo bro, you fucking destroyed this shit.’ Because I was nervous because I was like, ‘Man, I’m fucking going get him Eminem on my song, he going body me on my own shit.’ But I was like, fuck it. like, fuck it. I just want a joint with Em.”

Eminem Joins Kid Cudi For ‘The Adventures Of Moon Man & Slim Shady’ Single

After being put on blast by Cudi, NME removed the story from its website.

Cudi’s “The Adventures Of Moon Man & Slim Shady” featuring Eminem was released last Friday. The track marked the first collaboration between the two artists.
