Kanye West hasn’t tweeted since March 2, but that all changed on Friday (June 26) when the elusive artist returned to the social media platform to promote several of his new endeavors. After teasing a Kids See Ghosts animated show with Kid Cudi, Ye also touted his new 10-year partnership with clothing brand Gap.
“YEEZY AND GAP FORM PARTNERSHIP,” he wrote above a logo in the Gap’s likeness. He added the hashtag, “#WESTDAYEVER.”

According to Forbes, the full collection has been dubbed Yeezy Gap and will be revealed in 2021. The line will include apparel for women, men and children and will be available at Gap stores and online. Designs will come courtesy of Kayne and the Yeezy team.
The news prompted Gap shares to rise by 39 percent on Friday morning, adding more than $1.4 billion to Gap’s market cap of $3.8 billion.
Kanye has a long history with Gap. The 44-year-old Hip Hop mogul worked for the store as a teenager. In a 2015 interview with New York magazine, he said he had aspirations to be the “Steve Jobs of Gap” and act as its creative designer, making mass-appeal clothing.

Ye’s 10-year deal with Gap begins this month with the option to renew at the five-year mark. At that point, Gap hopes Yeezy Gap will be generating $1 billion in annual sales.
Gap has struggled over the past several years. In May, sales were down 50 percent and the brand opted to skip rent payments during the coronavirus pandemic. Consequently, the company is being sued by mall owner Simon Property Group. So perhaps enlisting Kanye might just do the trick and get the brand back on top.
This seems to be just the tip of the iceberg for Kanye. In another tweet, he listed off everything he has going on right now, including a Jesus Is King film on Apple TV and Jesus Is King revamp by Dr. Dre.
