Kanye West called DaBaby and 2 Chainz for some help with his latest single.

Fresh off his failed run for president, Kanye West has returned to the music industry. On Friday, Kanye dropped the remix to his latest single “Nah Nah Nah.” This time around, he recruited DaBaby and 2 Chainz.

Kanye dropped the original version back in October. The track received mixed reviews from fans, and the official video on YouTube has yet to crack a million views. “This must be what Yeezus sounds like to people who hate Yeezus,” wrote one fan. “Kanye went so far back to find the old Kanye he accidentally became a 15-year-old Soundcloud rapper,” said another.

The track is Kanye’s first release since his brief stint on the campaign trail, and first rap release since 2019’s gospel effort Jesus is King. In recent months, he’s focused his efforts on railing against Sony and Universal Music Groups, demanding to see the terms of their rosters’ contracts. His comments were mostly received favorably, despite a few artists suggesting he might be the wrong messenger. After pushback from artists previously associated with him, he decided to relinquish his share of his G.O.O.D. Music artists’ masters and publishing back in September.

A month before the release of “Nah Nah Nah,” Kanye teased a track sampling Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing).” It is unclear whether not these releases will appear on Donda, his forthcoming tenth studio album.

Stream the “Nah Nah Nah” remix on all major digital streaming platforms.
