Nas’s album NASIR, was the fourth of five seven-track albums  Kanye West produced during his “Wyoming Sessions” in 2018.

Kanye didn’t much enjoy that experience.

In a leaked video, Kanye criticizes Nas’s rapping on the project.

“‘Cops Shot The Kid’ Nas rapping all off-beat on it.  Don’t even want to shoot a video.  Then shot the video don’t tell me.  These motherf*ckers don’t appreciate me.  All these motherf*ckers trying to use me.  I’m the greatest motherf*cking artist living and I can do everything,” Ye claimed.

NASIR was neither a commercial nor a critical hit.  Nas has also discussed what went wrong.

“I don’t know what went wrong. I did want to work more with Kanye,” Nas told The Breakfast Club in 2020.  “We spent time and I was working on ideas. He would give me a few loops and I would write to them but they weren’t finished,” Nas continued. “He was working on a lot. He had [Kid Cudi], he had Teyana Taylor, he had his album and I was the only one coming in starting fresh. So, I had less time with him. We really did that album the week it was supposed to come out.”
