Probably one of the least talked about songs during the Drake, Kendrick Lamar battle is “Taylor Made Freestyle,” a cut where Drizzy used AI to replicate the voices of Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg.

Some called the AI move uncreative, others said it was corny, and Jermaine Dupri thinks it was “ignorant.”

“If you’re going to use AI, you’ve got to use it in a smart way,” said Dupri at the United Masters’ SelectCon conference in Atlanta. “Because the people that are touching it at this point, they don’t understand some of the things that it can damage, right? If you look at the Drake song where he used Snoop and Tupac’s voice.”

“I don’t think people listen to that and understand how serious people take Tupac,” he continued. “I think Snoop understood why he shouldn’t answer to it because it could have gotten really dangerous … To me that’s ignorant.”

Pac’s estate didn’t like Drake using the late rapper’s voice either and sent him a cease-and-desist, which made him take the song down.

Is Dupri right about Drake being ignorant for using AI in a battle?
