The new Goldlink track appears on Global Citizen’s Stand Up compilation.

On Friday, DMV natives Goldlink and Ari Lennox teamed up to cover Fela Kuti’s 1977 track “Sorrow, Tears, and Blood.” The track was produced by Raphael Saadiq as part of Global Citizen’s Stand Up compilation album, which Saadiq executive produced. Stream the track below.

“It was an honor to work on Stand Up with Global Citizen and such incredible artists, who all came together for this passion project in a year that has been so difficult for so many,” Saadiq said. “During this time, music has played a key role in keeping us all connected and my hope for those who listen is to feel empowered to create change.”

The compilation features iconic songs re-imagined by some of today’s biggest names in R&B. Guest appearances include PJ Morton, Big Freedia, Tori Kelly, Jordin Sparks, Masego and Lucky Daye.

On Saturday, Global Citizen will premiere its Prize award special at 8:00 PM EST on NBC. Hosted by John Legend, the event honors those making “extraordinary efforts” to lift up the world’s most vulnerable, while making the world a better place. This year’s prizes include Global Citizen of the Year, Global Citizen Prize for World Leader, Business Leader, Artist of the Year, and more.

Saadiq teamed up with TIDAL to host an exclusive listening session with Jordin Sparks. Spotify has also joined the cause, creating exclusive video interstitials of behind-the-scenes making of the album.
