Fred The Godson has reportedly died after being diagnosed with coronavirus earlier this month. His best friend and collaborator Jaquae confirmed the news Instagram on Thursday (April 23).
“Sleep in peace my brother,” he wrote in the caption. “You’ll never be forgotten. LOVE U MAN. I have so much things to say but I’m lost right now.”
There were reportedly recent signs he was improving but according to his wife LeeAnn Jemmott, the initial prognosis was grim.
She told News 12, “It was just like — he’s gone and he’s gonna die, that’s it. I don’t even know how I felt, I just felt like I was going to die.”
Fred was 35.
Hip Hop is showing up in droves to express their condolences on social media. Alchemist, Lloyd Banks, Skyzoo and Conway are a few of his peers showing love.
Rest In Peace Fred the Godson ??
