Fetty Wap was as hot as anyone in the game around in 2014.

However, by the end of 2016, it was all dipping.  By 2018, he was more or less done.

But Fetty had a lifestyle to maintain, and that’s when he turned to selling drugs.

“Like, aight, the music wasn’t really doin’ that good. I’m putting out music, but nobody’s payin’ attention. So, I’m like, man, f*ck it. I’ma go back to what I know how to do,” he told XXL in a jailhouse interview.  “Instead of pursuing my career harder or going harder to make people listen, man, I kinda was a coward, you know what I’m sayin’? Like if I’m fallin’ off, f*ck it, I ain’t about to look like it, you know what I’m sayin’? I was a coward for that. And I was just like, I can’t let my family down. It wasn’t for the, to be like, ‘I’m outside. I’m outside, n*gga, I’m really doin’ this sh*t for real.’ It wasn’t for none of that.”

In 2022, Fetty Wap pled guilty in federal court to conspiracy to possess and distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and ended up getting six years.

According to the Feds, Fetty and his co-defendants bought drugs on the West Coast and used US Postal Service drivers with hidden vehicle compartments to drive them to Long Island for sale
