Eminem’s mother Debbie Nelson died on December 2, after battling lung cancer. The 8 Mile rapper hasn’t released a statement about it or posted anything.

That could have to do with the strained relationship Em had with his mom, which he often rapped about.

But he did acknowledge her passing while doing a recent show in Abu Dhabi at an F1 Grand Prix event.

While performing “Without Me,” off his 2002 album The Eminem Show, Em decided not to say the part in the song that goes, “F*ck you, Debbie.”He had the crowd do it instead. [Jump to the 6:40 mark]

Still, it appears that Em and his mother patched things up before she died. In his 2013 song “Headlights,” he expressed regret for dissing her in his songs. 

But do you think it’s strange that he would have the audience curse at his deceased mom?
