RealStreetRadio Premiere – To kick off his birthday last month, El Paso-bred rapper Artson decided to deliver a song a week for the rest of 2020.

Now, the Native American MC has linked up with veteran Hip Hop artist Ras Kass and DJ RedCloud for “Rise Up.”

“I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than give my fans some fresh music out the studio,” he told RealStreetRadio. “I wanted to start off by giving them a lil’ something they could groove to and prep their sonic palettes for what’s to come.”

Prior to “Rise Up,” Artson released four remixes of songs that were featured on 2018’s Brave Star, technically marking this single his fifth release of the year.

The rest of the tracks from Artson’s 52 songs in 52 weeks campaign — which exclusively features beats by the breakin’ legend/producer BBoy Wicket — reinforce his tradition of social consciousness and reverence for Hip Hop’s foundation but will also go on a “journey through the unexpected.”

“Wicket and me have been down for decades as brothers in the dance,” Artson explained. “Breakin’ is the root of my personal journey through Hip Hop, so I wanted his beats on this project to honor that history.”
