Drakeo The Ruler is getting back to it.
Weeks after his release from prison, the Los Angeles native took to Instagram on Friday (December 18) to preview music from his upcoming mixtape, The Truth Hurts and in particular, highlight his upcoming feature with Drake.
“I don’t know if what we had is love, but it’s on my mind,” Drake sings on the track’s chorus. “We might slide on a nigga inside this club, girl close your eyes.”
While previewing the track, Drakeo let off shots at nameless enemies, reminding them of how everything is changing now he’s not longer behind bars.
“I’m the same nigga tho, remember that,” he says in the clip. “I’ll never switch up on the niggas who ain’t switch up on me. Even though niggas hating and all this clown ass shit, remember tho – nobody wanted to fuck with me while I was in jail. Nobody wanted to do none of this. Niggas gon’ try to be hitting me up and that’s cool and all that. But I’m not fucking with y’all. Remember that bro, I been a nigga. I been getting money. I been doing shit, bro. I am a nigga, bro, remember that.”
He continued, “Y’all can’t fuck with me. So when niggas get to sitting here, sitting at home thinking, ‘Oh, maybe y’all can fuck with me and maybe y’all on the same level as me?’ Y’all not, period nigga. I don’t think niggas realize, bitch I been out a month and some change. The shit niggas be doin’, all that cornball shit they be doin’? I’m on a whole different type of level. But y’all gon’ feel it tho. All that talkin’ bout nigga ain’t gon’ be able to play no music and all that? Y’all just made it worse for y’all. Now y’all really gon’ hear it – Drakeo and Drake.”

Drakeo announced his return to music in the form of We Know The Truth on December 1. His first release post-prison, the 25-track project featured guest appearances from Lil Mosey, Sean Kingston, Icewear Vezzo, ALLBLACK and more.
Not long after his release, the L.A. rapper made certain he didn’t have the same type of love in the world between him and Soulja Boy.
For a brief moment, the two men were cellmates while Soulja Boy served a three-month bid in a Los Angeles county jail and although the two shared the same occupation as rappers, Drakeo noted Big Draco chose protective custody over spending time in general population.
“You have a choice,” Drakeo said. “Who wants to sit there and be chained up all day? Because everywhere you go, you’re chained up, waist, whatever. No matter if you’re a celebrity or not because it comes with being in high power, so you’re getting chained up everywhere. You got to squat and cough and all this weird ass shit before you go to court, before you go to visiting, before you go to medical, before you go anywhere! Like, who wants to do that?”
