Drake‘s long-awaited sixth album may be on the way sooner than we think.

According to OnSMASH, the OVO outfit is planning to roll out the album’s first single, pairing The 6 God with none other than Bruno Mars. The rumored collaboration, set to arrive on Friday (August 14) would be the first between the two chart-toppers and Mars’ first release since “Please Me” with Cardi B in 2019.

Following the single’s release, the rumored release date for Skeleton King, Drake’s upcoming album would land on August 28. The schedule would align right with the announcement we got from him when he released his Dark Lane Demo Tapes project back in May.

“My brothers @oliverelkhatib @ovonoel put together alot of the songs people have been asking for (some leaks and some joints from SoundCloud and some new vibes),” Drake said at the time. “DARK LANE DEMO TAPES out everywhere at midnight…also my 6th STUDIO ALBUM DROPPING SUMMER 2020!!! Lucky number 6 soon fwd.”

Since then, Drake and the OVO team have given fans small incremental updates in regards to the progress of the album. In July, he shared a photo to his Instagram Stories of himself in the studio with the words “80%” written at the top.

Drake’s 6th Album Is Almost Complete But His Engineer Says Fans Still ‘Have To Wait’

On July 28, Drake’s engineer Noel Cadastre threw fans another bone when he shared a photo to his Instagram account, reminding OVO fans that Drake’s sixth full-length album was in the home stretch of being released.

“Studio for my bday…we 90% but y’all gonna have to wait on that last 10%,” he wrote.

The follow-up to 2018’s Scorpion is believed to be a much leaner affair from Drake. The album clocked in around 25 tracks but after a chat with TSN, he revealed that the new album would come in about anywhere from 10 to 16 tracks.
