Gangster Disciple co-founder, Larry Hoover, has been serving life for murder and other charges at ADX Florence prison in Florence, Colorado.

He could be coming home very soon.

Today, Donald Trump commuted the sentence of the 74-year-old, who has been locked up since 1973.

Rappers like Drake and Kanye West have been pushing for Hoover’s clemency for years.

For his part, Hoover had denounced the Disciples.

“I have long since renounced my association with any and all criminal organizations and their membership. I am no longer a member, leader, or even an elder statesman of the Gangster Disciples. I want nothing to do with it now and forever,” Hoover said in 2021.

Just because Trump commuted Hoover, it doesn’t mean he will be free.

He is concurrently serving a 200-year Illinios state sentence for murder

While it’s possible that his home state will let him go home, he could also be transferred to an Illinois prison instead.
