Fans of Donald Glover — A.K.A. Childish Gambino — were able to rejoice on Sunday (March 15) when a surprise album from the elusive artist appeared online.
But it turns out the celebration was only temporary. By Sunday night, the album was gone and disappointment from his fans set it.
The 12-track project featured SZA, 21 Savage and pop princess Ariana Grande, among others. It’d been available online for approximately twelve hours when it was scrubbed from the internet.
Glover, who has been focused on his acting career, announced he was retiring the Childish Gambino persona in January 2018. Fans quickly noticed the unexpected project was under his government name.
The 36-year-old father of two hasn’t released a proper album since 2016’s Awaken, My Love!
Since then, his FX show Atlanta took off and he’s been working on a third season. But according to Deadline, the show has been put on hold for at least two weeks as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread across the globe.
