Originally delayed over COVID-19 concerns and restrictions, director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming thrillerTenet is now scheduled for a September 3 release.

And its soundtrack features a top-secret Travis Scott song that has the highly decorated filmmaker singing the Astroworld mayor’s praises.

“His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism [composer] Ludwig Göransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound,” Nolan said within Travis’ GQ profile before giving his role utmost importance.

“His voice became the final piece of a yearlong puzzle.”

What that means or says for the unreleased track is anyone’s guess but Nolan’s filmography — boasting of critically acclaimed box office smashes such as 2010’s Inception, 2017’s Dunkirk and The Dark Knight Trilogy from 2005-2012 — is known to keep audiences guessing. His films have grossed nearly $5 billion worldwide and earned 10 Academy Awards.

The Grammy Award-winning Göransson, best known for being the secret sauce behind many of Childish Gambino’s projects, expanded on working with Scott for the Tenet.

“He’s touching so many different levels and different fields of art,” Göransson told GQ. “The way that he connects with art is not in a singular form. He has so many tentacles, and they’re all electric. So when we talk about feeling, [whether that’s] listening to a song or talking about a movie, he can visualize things in so many different fields. So it’s a very special ability. It’s like his own magic power.”

Writer Gerrick D. Kennedy described the song as “a brain-liquefying trip through time and space” which was triple the description Scott offered when asked about the film.

“I can’t even explain it,” Scott replied. “You literally just have to watch it. It’s very fire.”

The film stars John David Washington and Robert Pattinson and the studio has released a couple of trailers without much explanation (similar to Travis’ glowing movie review).
