San Francisco, CA – Diddy was sidelined in San Francisco and forced to cancel an appearance for surgery on his left quadricep — but that didn’t stop him from plugging one of his latest ventures.

Dressed in a hospital gown and blue hair net, the Hip Hop mogul spoke about the return of Making The Band, his former competition show on MTV (2002-2009). He made it clear he’s not looking for rappers.

“Before I go under, I made a very, very important decision for Making The Band,” he begins. “You know the show is coming back. We have our first auditions in Atlanta next weekend. I’m going to be watching and judging from my bed at home. I’m sending the Combs cartel down there, but for clarify, I’m looking for singers. It’s time we bring R&B back.”

In several of his Instagram Stories, Diddy further explained what landed him in the hospital with a bum leg.

“I just found out yesterday,” he said. “They squeezed me in for today. Pray for ya boy, I’m gonna see you all next time and make it up y’all.”

He added, “I have a confession to make. I used to be — I’m not anymore — one of the most accident-prone people in the world. I’m clumsy. I trip. I fall. I fall in holes. It’s always been like that. I have a good recovery, but this is my fourth surgery in two years. I’ve had two rotator cuffs, a knee replacement, and now a torn quad. At the end of the day, this is God’s work to slow me down, to take better care of my body, and really eat right and to stop treating my body like a machine.”

However, Diddy wasn’t asking for sympathy, adding “I did it to myself on accident. ”

Diddy Plugs 'Making The Band' Reboot As He's Wheeled Into Surgery

The Making The Band reboot will feature Diddy’s sons Christian Combs, Quincy Brown and Justin Combs as judges, joining original cast member, creative director and choreographer LaurieAnn Gibson at the judge’s table.

“We’re not settling for just anybody,” Brown said in the trailer below. “If you feel like you’ve got what it takes to compete in today’s industry, y’all know how our pops does it.”

The show will hold auditions in the following cities: February 28 and 29 — Atlanta; March 7 and 8 — Houston; March 13 and 14 — Charlotte and March 21 and 22 — New York City.
