South African rapper Costa Titch collapsed during his set yesterday at the Ultra South Africa festival in Johannesburg.

Hours later, he was pronounced dead.

“It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time,” Twitch’s family said in a post on his Instagram. “We are thankful for those emergency responders and all those present in his last hours.”

A cause of death had not been announced.

Twitch was a big star in Africa and had recently partnered with Akon’s record label.  Akon was also on one of the remixes of Twitch’s biggest hit “Big Flexa.”

Last month, Titch’s good friend AKA, another popular South African rapper, was shot to death before a show.

Costa Titch was 28.  RIP.
