Orlando, FL – Chief Keef’s Chicago ties didn’t stop him from showing appreciation to the Los Angeles Lakers. After LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the rest of the team celebrated their 2020 NBA Championship victory by listening to Keef’s 2014 song “Faneto,” the drill music pioneer saluted them via Twitter on Monday (October 12).

“Shout out King James & AD!” he wrote. “Aye Butler I Love you 4Life shorty Squa squa #300.”

Keef’s tweet included a positive message about Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler, who started his NBA career with the Chicago Bulls. Although the Heat lost the NBA Finals in six games, Butler’s play was widely commended as he managed to have two triple-doubles in the series.

The Lakers defeated the Heat in Game 6, winning 106-93 to cap off the NBA’s stint in the Orlando “bubble” on Sunday night (October 11). The franchise wons its 17th championship overall and first since 2010.

James was the 2020 NBA Finals MVP, which was his fourth time winning the award. He’s secured the honor every time he’s won a championship, which he previously did twice with the Heat and once with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Watch the Lakers partying in the locker room with “Faneto” as their soundtrack below.
