Cardi B didn’t realize a simple tweet would send an avalanche of angry followers into her mentions. The Bronx bombshell loves her designer purses, and she took to Twitter on Sunday (December 6) to get their opinion after debating pressing the buy button to add an $88,000 handbag to her luxe collection.

“Should I spend 88K for this damn purse,” she wrote. “Omggg it’s tempting.”

After Cardi’s proposition, followers immediately called her out for being insensitive about how she wants another handbag when the pandemic has some struggling to pay rent and find their next meal.

“Cardi we are going through a really rough time right now & a lot of people r scared that they won’t even be able to put a roof over their heads or food on the table,” one fan responded. “I love you but we r still going through Covid and the government isn’t doing shit to help us and hasn’t 4 months.”

Others basically demanded she takes that money and donates it to a charitable cause.

“Donate 88k to a charity for people that need help right now,” another person said. “U know the people that buy your music to perhaps get thru these shitty time’s…idk jus sayin.”

Cardi went on to bring up the receipts of the more than $2 million she’s donated since the coronavirus pandemic began in March.

“Also I got 7 uncles an 3 aunts on my daddy side,9 aunts and 3 uncles on my momma side a whole bunch of cousins I had to help cause of the pandemic,” she explained about how she’s helped her family through tough times. “If I want to splurge I can with out yall asking for hand outs like me and my husband don’t do so.Thank you.”

She also challenged her followers to show her how much they’ve donated and promised she would match their efforts with a donation of her own to charity.

Cardi eventually gave in and apologized, but made sure to take a jab at Donald Trump in the process.

Through all of the madness she caused, the 28-year-old may have just called it a night and bought the expensive bag anyway.
