Cardi B is airing out Wiz Khalifa after feeling slighted by one of his tweets.

Khalifa was talking to fans on Twitter amid the announcement of the 2021 Grammy nominations on Tuesday (November 24), when one fan noted the fact that Cardi got an award while Nicki Minaj still has yet to “is the biggest proof that they don’t know a shit bout music.” The Taylor Gang CEO seemingly agreed with the comment in his retweeted response, which sparked Cardi’s reaction.

“Most self made artists have this problem,” he wrote.

Shortly after catching wind of the tweet, Cardi pulled up a DM Khalifa sent her in 2016 and pointed out the hypocrisy.

“This was Nikkas in my dms in 2016!” she wrote with a screenshot of the DM. “They really support you when you grinding at the bottom then it’s a different story when you make it !”

In a second tweet, she criticized him for pitting her against Minaj.

“I don’t understand why niggas entertain tweets that pit successful women against each other?” she wrote. “Ya not tired of that? Specially when ya was rooting hard when a bitch was at the bottom.”

In his 2016 message, Khalifa praised the Bronx native for the way she handles things and pushed her to continue.

“You got your cause and your [sic] sticking to it,” he wrote at the time. “Don’t stray away from the things that are important to you and make you you. Your [sic] doing a great job and the way you address things is admirable. Keep your light shining and don’t let others take it. Peace and love.”

Cardi won a Grammy for the Best Rap Album in 2019 with her debut, Invasion of Privacy. While Minaj has been nominated multiple times over the years, she has still yet to be acknowledged. In a tweet on Tuesday, she reminded fans of her first snub in 2012 when she lost out on the Best New Artist award to fellow newcomer Bon Iver.

“Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation,” Minaj wrote. “They gave it to the white man Bon Iver. #PinkFriday.”

Last month, rumors circulated Minaj and Cardi would be collaborating on a song together following a years-long feud. The assumptions were only based off of a cryptic tweet from Cardi that made no mention or reference to Minaj, however, so the rumor has no real basis.
