Bishop Nehru has a new release date for his upcoming album Nehru: My Disregarded Thoughts. The project was originally expected to arrive last November but due to a “managerial dispute,” it was postponed.

According to a press release, the project will now be released on May 8. Along with the release date, the Hip Hop prodigy has also unveiled a video for the DJ Premier-produced “Too Lost” single. The track finds Bishop exploring the layered thoughts floating through his subconscious, including the fears and insecurities he wrestles with every day.

During a November 2019 interview with RealStreetRadio, Bishop revealed the idea for My Disregarded Thoughts was birthed over 10 years ago and he was finally ready to share it with the world.

“I wasn’t as comfortable making that type of stuff that I wanted to make,” he told DX. “So I feel like on this project, I’m just comfortable making the type of music that I grew up listening to.”

Nehru: My Disregarded Thoughts is divided into two parts — The Abyss and The Escape — and billed as his “most ambitious, introspective and purposeful project to date.” The Abyss narrates the darker side of Bishop’s mind and life, while The Escape features some of Bishop’s most lyrically upbeat tracks as he leaves those darker thoughts behind.

The album also features Bishop’s longtime collaborator DOOM and, of course, Preemo. It will accompany a U.K. and European tour, with U.S. dates to be announced soon.
