Barack Obama unveiled another one of his playlists, this time collecting tracks for Summer 2020. The former president’s selections featured a heavy dose of Hip Hop, including songs by Nas, J. Cole, Megan Thee Stallion, Outkast, Common, Chika and the late Mac Miller.

“Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to music with my family,” Obama wrote on Instagram. “I wanted to share some of my favorites from the summer–including songs from some of the artists performing at this week’s @DemConvention. As always, it’s a mix of genres that travels through various eras. I think there’s something in here for everybody–hope you enjoy it.”

Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to music with my family. I wanted to share some of my favorites from the summer––including songs from some of the artists performing at this week’s @DemConvention. As always, it's a mix of genres that travels through various eras. I think there's something in here for everybody––hope you enjoy it.

The 44th President of the United States tapped into multiple eras and genres for his playlist. Some of his other notable picks were Anderson. Paak, Billie Eilish, Rihanna, Bob Marley, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, John Coltrane, Bob Dylan and Beyoncé.

Obama’s choices also included a little promotion for the 2020 Democratic National Convention, which began on Monday (August 17). America’s first Black president highlighted the convention performers by placing stars next to their names.
