In a since-deleted Instagram post, Banks went after Owens for implying the celebration of Juneteenth is anti-American.

Another week, another social media standoff between Candace Owens and Azealia Banks. This time around, the on-again-off-again sparring partners went at it over a recent tweet from Owens that declared Juneteenth to be “soooo lame,” claiming the newly acknowledged federal holiday was an attempt by Democrats to “repackage segregation.” The tweet also implied that celebrating Juneteenth was inherently anti-American.

Never one to let a controversial take from a conservative talking head go unanswered, Banks fired back with a brutally detailed, verging on entirely off-the-rails, slavery fever dream with Owens in the starring role. “According to this logic, on July 4, 1776, you would still be enslaved,” Banks said in a since-deleted Instagram post (see below.) “Most likely on the verge of starvation due to all of America’s food supply having been prioritized for the war, while you hand sew American flags and struggle to wet nurse some depressed 24-year-old white widow’s sickly child until your nipples are chapped and dry,” Banks went on (for a while,) adding the ways Owens would be whipped, starved, and forced to sleep “on a bed bug infested pile of hay in a 6×4 cabin you share with 4 other slaves.” Banks capped it by then hopping into her own comment section, where she warned Owens to “Tread lightly sis.”

The Fox News favorite has yet to return fire. But that shouldn’t be too far down the line. She’s clearly not doing anything else today.
