The fallout from Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith‘s episode on Red Table Talk discussing Jada’s relationship with August Alsina has been swift. Numerous celebrities such as Boosie, Meek Mill have weighed in on the interview including actress, singer and daytime talk show host Keke Palmer.

After Alsina responded to Palmer’s opinion on the matter, the Michael, Sara & Keke star took to Instagram to respond to the whole situation. Instead of diving deep into dropping screenshots and adding to the drama, she’s backing off from it.

“I wouldn’t feel good kicking someone when they are down because it’s so easy to attack when you’re in a corner, I get it,” Palmer wrote. “People be hurting y’all and most of the time it has nothing to do with you.”

She added, “I can’t fuck up my karma worried about my ego, though I’m human and I have one. Just know I am that bitch despite what my humility may make one believe. I don’t have to beg or be thirsty for a damn thing because my talent speaks louder than my looks. Let the cheek be turned pooh’s, my character is too strong.”

I wanna be mean, but I can’t. I want to post screenshots, but I won’t. I feel attacked, but It’s not about me. It’s about so much more than that and as much as I want to defend myself against the disrespect I have received(cause I mean I’m not nice all the time ?) this is about something so much bigger. I wouldn’t feel good kicking someone when they are down because it’s so easy to attack when you’re in a corner, I get it. People be hurting y’all and most of the time it has nothing to do with you. I can’t fuck up my karma worried about my ego, though I’m human and I have one. Just know I am that bitch despite what my humility may make one believe. I don’t have to beg or be thirsty for a damn thing because my talent speaks louder than my looks. Let the cheek be turned pooh’s, my character is too strong.

The back-and-forth initially started between the two after Palmer offered her two cents on the highly-anticipated episode by suggesting that Alsina shouldn’t have revealed his relationship with Jada.

“The theme is boundaries. Everybody doesn’t need to know your business, that’s not fake it’s honoring one’s privacy,” she wrote.

A user attempted to flex on Keke, alleging that she was involved in a relationship with Alsina by sharing a photo of the two together. Keke quickly dispelled the notion about her and Alsina, saying that the two were never an item.

Alsina quickly took to Twitter to respond to Keke and instead of letting the situation go, he only amplified it.

“U Absolutely right. I was never ur man,” he replied. “It seems u mad u got curved, but ur ur ‘friends’ r the reason 4 that.Dey showed me an endless thread of txt/pics of me dat u sent, wrry’d abt who i date &BEGGED me 2 not further disturb ur mental instability.”

He continued in subsequent tweets, “Imagine not knowing how to mind the business that pay you. I catch all the subliminals. (Not just about today) & you can call me whatever you like, Mess is constantly inserting yourself in topics you have nun to do w/. Go play w/ ya MAMMY! Not me!”

When asked if Alsina’s rage was pointed at anyone who was joking about the Smith family essentially using his mental issues for their show, Alsina cleared up any confusion.

“Nah, I’m literally not,” he responded. “I actually fucked w/ KeKe. So to see her covertly speaking subliminal shade around my name over the past week Is deeply perplex. I don’t and never have had a problem w/ the girl. It’s always been Virgo love! So to see that is a mind fuck to me.”
