According to Suge Knight, Deion Sanders was signed to Death Row during his rap career.

However, Suge didn’t see a penny from any of Prime Time’s output because Deion had a problem with working with Black-owned businesses.

“I spent over half a million dollars of my own money. I put guys in the studio, I paid Dallas Austin, I did all these songs — did everything,” Suge said on Nick Cannon’s show.  “Then one day he came to me and said, ‘Well, y’know, Prime deal with Nike and Death Row is a Black-owned company, and we don’t really want to deal with a Black-owned company. Even though you paid for everything and we signed to you, put us on the Interscope brand.'”

Suge said he reached out to Jimmy Iovine and got Deion on Interscope.  But he never got any money in return.

Does what Suge is saying sound like something that happened the way he said it happened?
