DMX’s daughter Sonovah Hillman Jr. could appear on his forthcoming posthumous album.

On Monday, DMX‘s Twitter account announced the official release date of Exodus, his eighth studio album. The album will arrive on streaming platforms on May 28th.

The album will be executive produced by Swizz Beatz and it will be released on Def Jam records. (DMX has released an album on Def Jam since Grand Champ in 2003.)

In a press release, Swizz talked about DMX’s impact, saying:

“My brother X was one of the most pure and rare souls I’ve ever met. He lived his life dedicated to his family and music. Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure. This album, X couldn’t wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally.”

The album shares name with DMX’s son, Exodus. But Over the weekend, it was revealed that the album could have a special guest from another DMX offspring: X’s 8-year-old daughter Sonovah Hillman Jr. In an interview with NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth, Hillman spoke about starting her rap career, and her fondest memories of her father.

“Whatever is on my mind, I just write about it. Rapping makes me feel powerful,” she told reporter Abbie de Vera. “Someday I want to own a mansion with 15 bedrooms.” Hillman, who currently lives in Oakland, was reportedly asked to collaborate on two tracks from DMX’s forthcoming album Exodus. If he was around to see it, Hillman is sure he’d be pleased.

“My favorite song of his is “Party Up,” she said. “He was happy when I told him I wanted to rap.” In the last few months, she’s released two singles: “I Hate Zoom” and “TikTok Kid.” On Saturday, she released the music video for “TikTok.” Find both singles on all major digital streaming platforms.

The two last spent time together this past February, when they took a trip to Miami. According to Hillman’s mother, the talent seems to run in the family.

“She has a lot of his traits as far as an artist,” she said. “Writing is easy for her.”
