50 Cent was a gritty street rapper long before he was making millions as a television executive behind shows such as Power and Power Book II: Ghost. In 2000, he was shot nine times as he was leaving his grandmother’s home in South Jamaica, Queens — and survived.

The incident likely left much more than physical scars and reliving it over and over again presumably isn’t pleasant. So when the Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ legend noticed a recent VladTV interview with former friend and ex-Murder Inc. CEO Kal Dawson, he hit play and apparently didn’t like what he saw.

In the clip, Dawson claims he was with 50 Cent on the day he was shot, saying, “I was in the passenger seat, we pulled up in front of this house and we’re sitting in the car. Some kid had a hoodie on and a ski mask and he started walking towards the vehicle and we paid him no mind but as he got closer he pulled out a gun and started shooting.”

But 50 is calling cap on Dawson’s story, taking to Instagram on Tuesday (January 5) to put him on blast. After stamping a screenshot of the video with a big, red “fraudulent” across the top of it, he captioned the post, “I want this video taken down now!”

Host and creator DJ Vlad clearly got 50’s message and pulled the YouTube video down. It’s no longer available on his YouTube channel or the VladTV website.

Vlad’s platform has taken a series of hits over the last couple of months. Royce Da 5’9 wanted Vlad to apologize for allegedly misquoting Minister Louis Farrakhan during one of his interviews, prompting an all-out war on the long-running YouTube show. Frequent guests Lord Jamar and comedian Godfrey both pulled their support as the term “culture vulture” was flung all over social media.

Last month, one of Vlad’s interviews with Casanova was blamed for the rapper’s recent arrest despite the fact Vlad’s name was never mentioned in the FBI’s indictment.
