“I am now Dionne The Singer.”
Dionne Warwick took to Twitter this weekend to gain some clarity and inadvertently roast two of the biggest names in music.
“If you have ‘The’ in your name i’m coming for you. I need answers today,” the soul legend wrote, signaling to her unsuspecting targets that a gentle grilling was imminent. “If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name? I cannot stop thinking about this,” she continued, tagging Chance The Rapper, who was delighted to even be on the radar of a luminary artist of Warwick’s stature. “Sorry I’m still freaking out that u know who I am. This is amazing!,” Chance responded with proper enthusiasm. Warwick returned volley acknowledging she did, in fact, know exactly who Chance was and even expressed interest in collaborating with the Chicago rapper.
Warwick went on to take her shot at The Weeknd. “The Weeknd is next. Why? It’s not even spelled correctly?,” Warwick ribbed. And much like Chance, the singer was just grateful Warwick took notice. “I just got roasted by Dionne Warwick and I feel honored! You just made my day,” the singer responded.
After tweeting at the “Blinding Lights” singer, Warwick’s fans began to question whether her account had been hijacked, but she quickly dismissed any and all speculation.

Hi, @chancetherapper. If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name? I cannot stop thinking about this.
